CANCELLATION AND RESCHEDULE POLICY
a/o May 2025
Dear Chris Jon Clients,
We have been incredibly fortunate in being booked out more than ever this year. It has been a delight collaborating with so many clients, old and new.
Of course, with the increase in bookings we have also been fielding an increase in cancellation and reschedule requests. While we appreciate that emergencies arise and some cancellations or reschedules are unavoidable, we are endeavoring to limit ongoing last-minute adjustments to our schedule, as the nature of our work makes it very difficult to replace cancelled or rescheduled appointment slots with another.
We are updating our cancellation and reschedule policy in order to mitigate the challenges of last-second schedule changes, which impact our business, other prospective clients, and our hair and makeup artists.
CANCELLATIONS
We must receive notice of cancellation 3 or more business days before your scheduled shoot in order to refund you your deposit. Cancellations within 3 business days of your scheduled shoot will result in your deposit being forefeit.
We require 3 business days' notice to give us (and our hair and makeup artists) sufficient time to try to replace the cancelled booking with another shoot or job.
We (and our hair and makeup artists) are not available weekends to field cancellation requests. That means if your shoot is on a Monday, you must cancel with us by the Wednesday before your scheduled shoot. For a Tuesday shoot, you must cancel by the Thursday before your scheduled shoot. For a Wednesday shoot, we must receive cancellation notice by the Friday prior.
RESCHEDULES
We must receive reschedule requests 3 or more business days before your scheduled shoot in order to avoid forfeiting your deposit. Reschedule requests received within 3 business days of your scheduled shoot will be considered a cancellation and will result in your deposit being forfeit.
As with cancellations, we are not available weekends to field reschedule requests; see 'Cancellations' section above if you need clarity on how this impacts timing for reschedule requests.
We have also experienced an uptick in repeat reschedules for individual clients. Frequent and repeated rescheduling of a session creates disruption to our schedule and prevents other clients from booking in, even if the session is rescheduled before the 3-business day deadline.
Therefore, going forward, we will treat 3 repeat cancellation requests - even if done before the 3-business day deadline - as a cancellation request, wherein on the third reschedule of the same appointment, we will cancel your booking and refund your deposit (provided the third reschedule occurs 3 or more business days ahead of your scheduled shoot).
We understand conflicts arise and some last-second emergencies are unavoidable, and we try to be as accommodating as possible. However we ask that our clients book in with intention and do their best to commit to their scheduled appointment time as a courtesy to us, our hair and makeup artists, our building management team, and our other clients.
